Haley + Evan | Pawleys Island Engagement Pictures
First off, I've completely neglected blogging so I apologize for going dark. To be honest, I've struggled with my confidence in photography and haven't wanted to post anything. It's the perfectionist in me. I also haven't been super happy with my editing style and had trouble maintaining a consistent "look" that I felt was representative of my brand. But I recently purchased the Fuji Pack by Mastin Labs and I feel like it's been a total game-changer. I love emulating the film look while also staying light and airy. New editing style, plus having a shoot with the literal MOST IDEAL LIGHTING SITUATION AND LOCATION and I'm ready to share again.
I am finally, FINALLY, so proud of myself. Which has been really hard for me to feel in a saturated industry full of comparisons and amazingly talented professionals. This engagement shoot during sunset in Pawleys Island, SC is the epitome of everything I've worked so hard to achieve.
I've also spent some time listening to the RISE podcast by Rachel Hollis and feel a renewed sense of motivation. She interviews so many inspiring female entrepreneurs (including one of my favorites, Mica May of May Designs) who juggle building businesses with their family and personal health. If you want a more productive way to spend your daily commutes, I highly recommend adding it to your list of podcasts.
Long story short, I've still got a ways to go, but I feel like if I keep working hard at this little side hustle/passion that I love, I can build this into something great for my clients. And I can't thank everyone enough who has supported me along the way, including my future brother-in-law and his fiancée who put their trust in me to take on this incredible shoot. Their goofiness and patience, combined with their immense love for each other resulted in engagement photos that will be treasured for so many years.
